2017-2018 Board Members

Philip A. Alia, MBA, APR, President

philipPhilip begins serving as President of IABC Jacksonville, following one year as the VP of Administration and acting VP of Communication.

Philip brings over 15 years of marketing communications and business management expertise specializing in brand management, marketing strategy, executive and crisis communications, customer service, strategic messaging, public relations, special events, advertising, creative development and corporate sponsorships. 

His management experience includes successfully managing up to 58 staff and operating budgets in excess of $16M.  He is currently number three for internal, external, investor, and executive communications for a $1.4B, publicly-traded company.

Philip’s professional experience includes management positions with various service-oriented companies including Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. (NYSE: ADSW), the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, Vivid Media Concepts (an award-winning, multi-million dollar advertising agency), Forbes Magazine, Time Warner (NYSE: TWX), and the Walt Disney World Co. (NYSE: DIS).  Philip received his Bachelors of Science from Rider University, a Graduate Certificate in Marketing Strategy from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management, and his Master of Business Administration from Southeastern University. Philip has served on various boards, including the Marine Industries Association of NE Florida, the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross and is a volunteer with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He has been married for over 20 years, has two sons and resides in St. Johns County, Fla.


Trisha Zimmerman, VP of Admin./Communication

As Senior Communications Manager at PGi, Trish manages internal communications for a 500 employee global workforce as well as B2B communications. She has more than 16 years marketing communications experience, including executive communications, social media, creative development, customer service, and employee communications strategy. She led the application process for many of PGi's national awards including, "Best Contact Center Culture," "Contact Center of the Year," "Corporate Social Responsibility" and a Gold Stevie International Business Award for "Support Team of the Year."

Trish led the creative development of a company culture book and was chosen to speak at Call Center Week's 18th Annual Conference about PGi's Award Winning Culture. Her passion is driving a culture of employee engagement, which contributes to a 96% employee retention rate. She also measures the customer experience through a Net Promoter Score (NPS) and led the selection of the company’s net promoter platform.

Trish received her BS Degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Business Communications from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas.

Outside of work, Trish enjoys competing in triathlons and distance races, particularly marathons and half marathons.

Joanne Kazmierski, Immediate Past President

JoanneJoanne is the CEO and founder of Global Business Logistix, LLC, a company formed to provide exceptional project leadership in the international trade and logistics industry with a focus on workforce & economic development. Check out her company on Facebook!

Joanne has over 16 years of experience in the port, logistics, supply chain and transportation industry in areas of workforce and economic development experience with the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) and the Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA).

Her clients include the University of South Florida, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida, FSCJ, Jax Chamber and other educational institutions throughout the state and country.

Volunteering is important to Joanne. She currently is the Vice Chair of GlobalJax. a regional arm of the U.S. State Department, responsible for hosting hundreds of emerging leaders from all around the world. She serves at the VP of Communications for the Women in Transportation Seminar of Northeast Florida. She has been an avid mentor via Girl Scouting, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NE Florida and with local entrepreneurs.

Joanne has received her BS Degree in Marketing and Business Administration from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Joanne is carefree, passionate, family-oriented, and a work-a-holic who loves the mountains and nature! For relaxation, she enjoys a good walk on the beach or a bike ride. She and her husband, Dave, have two children, Jessica, and Justin, who both attend Florida State University in Tallahassee
